Adolescents' experiences of Help Overcoming Pain Early—A school based person‐centred intervention for adolescents with chronic pain

To illuminate adolescents' experiences of Help Overcoming Pain Early (HOPE), a person-centred intervention delivered in school setting by nurses. Twenty-one adolescents with chronic pain recruited from secondary school, who had completed the HOPE intervention, were included interview study. The was built on ethics and consisted four meetings between nurses subject stress management. A qualitative method using content analysis an inductive approach employed. In interviews, describe how they reclaim their lives help HOPE. They use different strategies parts to move lives. trustful relationship, as that nurse, essential dare change. overarching theme summarizes Becoming myself again is up three sub-themes: Trust pillar for growth, Making sense my life pain, Putting into world again. such applied context promising promoting confidence pain. trust-building process emerged, terms both trust healthcare staff meet own ability handle influence situation, which long term can promote themselves person.
